Relay attack
On keyless cars, one device picks up your key's signal through a door or window and relays it to a second device by the car. The car unlocks and starts.

Call-out hours
7am to 9pm, seven days a week. Requests outside those hours are handled from 7am.
What counts as an emergency
Your car can't be diagnosed or repaired without access to the port, and it can't wait for a booked visit.
Not on Care and need us now?
Join Care when you call and pay the member rate for that visit. Care starts that day with the 12-month minimum.

Your garage never needs to know.
The fewer people who know how your car is protected, the better it works. So we don't tell your garage. We prepare the car before it goes in and re-secure it after.

Popular kits are kept in stock for same-week fitting. Others are cut for your car, so we take a 50% deposit to order them, with the balance on fitting day. We need a dry, covered space to fit.

Good questions.
What happens when my car needs a service or MOT?
Book a garage visit online with your garage date. We prepare the car before it goes in and re-secure it afterwards. Care includes three of these a year. Without Care, each garage visit is £69.
Why don't you just tell my garage?
Every extra person who knows how a car is protected makes that protection weaker. Keeping it between you and us is part of what you're paying for.
What if I break down and can't reach you?
Open your sealed emergency access card and give it to the garage. Opening it is free. Afterwards we re-secure the car and issue a new sealed card: free on Care, £69 without.
How do Care and Care+ work, and can I cancel?
Care is £12.99 a month and Care+ is £19.99 a month, by Direct Debit, or £139 and £219 a year upfront. Care+ adds one free screen film replacement a year and 15% off coding and film. Both have a 12-month minimum, then you can cancel any time with 30 days' notice. If you cancel, your protection stays fitted and visits move to pay-as-you-go prices.
Is this insurance or Thatcham approved?
No. Protechted is a deterrent and anti-programming measure, not an insurance-category device. If your insurer requires a Thatcham-approved tracker or immobiliser, you'll need one from an approved installer, and we're happy to point you in the right direction.
Will it affect my car's warranty?
The kit is plug-and-play, with no cutting or splicing of your car's wiring, and it can be fully removed to return the car to standard.
Will coding affect my warranty?
Coding changes settings in your car's own control units; it doesn't add hardware. We save your original settings before any change and can put them back, for example before a dealer visit. Some manufacturers may still treat changes as modifications, so if your car is under warranty, ask us first.
Where do you fit protection film?
At your home or work, as long as there's a dry, covered space such as a garage or car port. Film needs a dust-free surface to bond properly, so we can't fit it outside in the rain.
My car is keyless. Does this stop relay theft?
The OBD port security stops key programming. Relay attacks are a different method, which is why you get a Faraday key box for home and two pouches for when you're out. They only work if your keys are inside them, so make it a habit.
